These blocks shape how a page reads: callouts and tabs to organize prose, figures for media, claims to mark where an assertion comes from, and a manifest for reading order across pages. Callouts and claims also mean something to agents, since both live in the file as plain markdown.

Callouts

GitHub- and Obsidian-style callouts. Put the type in uppercase in the first line of a blockquote:
Text after the tag replaces the default title. Add - after the tag to make the callout foldable and collapsed, or + for foldable and expanded:
Supported types, grouped by color: A [!quiz] callout is a question, not a note. See quiz callouts.

Tabs

Group alternatives in tabs with a :::tabs container and a ::tab[Label] line before each panel:

Columns

Split content side by side with a :::columns container and a ::col line before each column. Columns stack on narrow screens.
Without either, columns share the width equally.

Figures

Wrap media in :::figure to change its width, pin it while the reader scrolls, or add a caption:
A wiki embed takes the same options after the |, such as ![[diagram.excalidraw.md|wide pin]]. See drawing embeds.

Claims

Mark an assertion with its evidence, confidence, and source, so a sourced claim reads differently from a guess. The web UI shows a badge, and flags a claim with no source and no or low confidence as unsourced.
Other attributes are kept and queryable. Every claim is indexed, so you can audit them with DQL:
DQL
FROM CLAIMS takes an optional evidence value and an optional IN "folder/". Each row has text, scope (block or inline), evidence, confidence, and source.
Provenance claims are unrelated to task claims, which are leases on a path.

kiwi-diff

An annotated diff, side by side or unified. Write unified-diff lines (- removed, + added, two spaces for context), with an optional YAML header above ---:
Or put the old and new code in two blocks separated by a === line. That form shows side by side.

kiwi-color

Color swatches for a design system. Click a swatch to copy its value. Write one color per line:
Or use YAML for a named palette with WCAG contrast ratios:
Values can be hex, rgb(), hsl(), or named colors. swatchSize is small, medium, or large.

Reading order

A _book.yaml file in a folder sets the order of its pages for the previous and next links at the bottom of each page, and for multi-file document export:
_book.yaml
Without a manifest, KiwiFS orders pages by frontmatter order, then by file name.

Widgets overview

Every widget, grouped by category.

Wiki links

Links and ![[embeds]] between pages.

DQL

Query claims and records alongside frontmatter.
